Hey friends, it has been way too long since we've updated the blog and we wanted to say hello, so hello! Currently we're waiting to get our records back from United Pressing in Nashville, and once we do we're going to work on a video and plan our release show! But, in the meantime we're already working on a few new tunes in the studio. 4 songs to be exact. Check out the little teaser trailer below!
We're excited to report that the final masters have been sent away for cutting up in Chicago! The process has started! Very excited.
Last-minute gig at the Red Light Cafe, with Kenny, Lee Flier and Lyle Bufkin, kicking it unplugged-style. Also featuring the tall and talented John McNicholas and the less tall but also groovy Brit La Palm.
$5 advance, $7 at the door.
BRIT - 8pm
JOHN - 9pm
KH&W - 10pm
See you there!
A few years back I was living in Indianapolis and one night a group of us were out at a pub called The Broadripple Brew Pub having drinks by the fireplace lamenting a friend's recent breakup when one of the girls said to her, "You need to sail out of bitter harbor and go get yourself a new man!" To this day that phrase cracks me up, so I used it as the inspiration for this tune. Bitter Harbor. A song about someone that's too afraid to leave port and to be loved. It's just me, an acoustic guitar and a old video. Hope you dig it.
Here's a fun little cover of Pavement's tune, Cut Your Hair that Michelle Freidman, Tim Terilli and I did for the Theme Music group on Facebook. Dig it!
The new record is in the final stages of mastering and artwork, and we're really excited to be releasing this one on 12" colored vinyl. Here's a sneak peak at one of the cover ideas.
We had such a great time playing International Pop Overthrow! Here's proof!
Hey all! We're playing the Atlanta version of the International Pop Overthrow, a really cool festival I've had the honor of playing 2 times before. The first time was a few weeks after 9/11 at Arlene's Grocery with Honeyrider, and the next time was in 2008 at the Local 506 with The Yum Yum Tree. Always a blast! Can't wait to play this one. We play on Friday, September 27th at 9pm. Hope to see some friends out for a great night of music.
Had a great time playing the New World Brewery last weekend, and it was great to see so many friends out!
Hey! Enjoy a free download of my show from last week at the Red Clay Theater. Looking forward to playing some of these new songs down in Tampa on Friday.
